I always keep the jump-bag in the back, contains all the usual first aid stuff. Very rarely i'll carry my turnout gear unless it's crappy weather. We don't do many extrications in my town, and if we do, i'm an officer, so i stay clean
And I usually always have the radio in the cup holder or the pager on the visor...

Hey! The 1984 Ford-Darley is also completely equipped
right down to the PASS devices on the SCBAs! Carries
much more equipment than my Seagrave. Both are NFPA
correct for the time period that they were in service.
The Seagrave was in service until 1996 and the Darley
was in service until 2006. I was able to purchase both
apparatus fully equipped. Only add to add a few small things
and radios. We rehabbed the Seagrave as it needed a
fair amount of work as it had a hard life. All is good now.

No, not a millionaire, just an old retired firefighter D/O.

Was careful with my money and managed to be in the right
place at the right time to get the right deals. Takes patience,
not money. Also LOTS of hard work and elbow grease.

I'll post some pics later. Don't want to be a "post hog".
Better yet, PM me and I'll give you the link to my website
and my E-Mail and we can swap FD pictures and info with
out tying up things here. Maybe if others are interested,
I'll post the pictures with permission from the site owner.
We are "guests" in his house after all.

Check out the "vintage" thread. I found some more Mars
    light pictures and posted them.

Just might be for his job as a Police Officer....
I am away and may not be in immediate contact...

  17. Re: What Do You Keep In Your POV?

No really Greg. I am not that stupid. I kinda figured that, just not ALL police carry that much in their povs. I would think that Ben is on swat or has that sort of training. Are you on swat Ben?

No, we don't have a SWAT team. That's really not very much stuff. The stuff in the uncle mikes bag (basically an oversized backpack) is for when I get called in for search warrants and stuff on my days off. I live 30 miles away from the town I work in, so it's not like I can just swing by the house and gear up. The range bag and guns are there because I like to go to the range a lot, and I like to keep my guns with me for when I get called in. All that other stuff is just personal use stuff.

But you're right, most cops don't carry all that stuff with them. Pretty much ANY deputy anywhere has more than that in their car, but they have take-home cars. My POV is my 'takehome car', since I'm basically on call 24/7. We're a small department (5 fulltime guys, 2 part time, 2 reserve), so when something goes down Im often called to respond to help so neighboring agencies who immediately responded can get their officers back to their own town. Comes with being in a small town. It's nothing I'm REQUIRED to carry, but I have the stuff and I have the room to carry it, so I do. I'm a firm believer that you can never be too prepared, no matter where you are.

  19. Re: What Do You Keep In Your POV?

sounds good, the guy I talked about with the gun safe also just likes to go to the range alot lol, accually he's a firefighter too!! Lolol. He has his own armory pretty much. Also, I don't know what you have for a med kit/jump bag but I have a blackhawk tacticle medic bag. They are very pricy but are extremly durable and have molle on the front for extra things. The pouches on the inside are clear on one side and Velcro so you can rip out wich ever pouch you need. There is also a camelback place so you can have water with you. We have used it tons of times and a few times at mva's and after getting thrown around and beat up it is still in perfect condition and has held up. I have a unckle mikes Glock holster that I just got for 10.99 off galls. It was originally 80$!!! That is also were I got the med bag, for $19.99 an it was originally around $200. They have some good stuff cheap in the clearencr section, lots of good stuff to add to you pov!
